Nelson Mandela University is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Andrew Palfrman as the new Director of the School of Architecture, effective from January 1st, 2024.

Bringing over two decades of experience in academia and professional practice, Mr. Palfrman has been instrumental in shaping architectural education and practice within the institution and beyond. His professional journey spans a rich tapestry of roles and achievements that underscore his commitment to education, innovation, and architectural excellence.

South End was a vibrant, diverse and thriving mixed community before implementation of the 1950 Group Areas Act under the apartheid regime. Forced removals implemented under the act, removed Coloured residents of South End to areas such as Gelvandale, Korsten, and Chetty.
